We kicked off the development of our online pet store with some research. We broke down the service into functional blocks and conducted a competitive analysis, benchmarking against the top players in the market.
We also documented the company's business processes and combined the customer experience in this industry with their expectations for the future service

For the second part of our research, we focused on the user experience. We conducted interviews with different categories of buyers, including people with one or two pets, regular and occasional shoppers, and so on. For each user profile, we created a Customer Journey Map and compiled a set of expectations regarding the purchase and delivery process.
To shift the company's business processes to an online service, we carried out a thorough analytical study.
Based on the customer journey maps, we gathered requirements for the functionality. These include both the features needed for the initial release and those for future development, to be worked on gradually through iterations.
As the store plans to evolve into a marketplace, we've proactively outlined a roadmap with a set of features for each subsequent release.

For instance, in one of the upcoming releases, the store plans to enable interaction with charitable foundations and create separate accounts for their representatives.
Even though we've postponed this functionality for later, we've already worked on it to streamline and expedite the release of future updates.

We were already working on a landing page for the client, so we had style guidelines to follow.
The client liked the light and vibrant style of the landing page, so we used it as a foundation for the design of the online store. The design was developed following the principles of a design system: in terms of elements, colors, and grids.
Simultaneously, we set the direction for the brand identity, which can be scaled for the production of print materials or branding delivery vehicles in the future.
